The Apartment
This spacious apartment is opposite the
beach with beautiful views of the sea, mountains and the Ilse
de Lerins. A first floor luxury apartment in a charming old
mansion built in the 1900 and is just 15 minutes walk by the
sea to the Palais Des Festival and the centre of Cannes. This
2 bedroom apartment is superbly furnished and comprises of a
spacious lounge/diner which has a comfortable sofa and 2
armchairs. The dining table seats 6. The fitted kitchen has a
breakfast bar with a large American fridge freezer with an ice
maker. All appliances including dishwasher, coffee percolater,
oven/hob, kettle and all eating and cooking utensils. The
small utility off the kitchen has a washing machine and dryer.
Off the entrance hall is a twin bedroom and double bedroom
both with fans and sea views. Also off the hall is a shower
room with hammam (a type of steam area within the shower). The
second bathroom has a Jacuzzi, with twin basins, toilet and
bidet. The separate cloakroom is fitted with a toilet and
washbasin.
Cannes
Within a fifeen minute walk
is the world famous Croisette with its elegant promenade and
lovely sandy beaches and deep blue sea on one side and the
beautiful Belle Epoch and Art Deco buildings on the other. A
must to visit is the fabulous designer shops, restaurants and
busy night life. The Palais des Festival famous for the Cannes
Film Festival is toward the end of the promenade. Further
along the prom takes you to the Vieux Port with its Marina and
magnificent yachts and "Le Suquet" (castle on the hill) where
numerous restaurants are packed into the quaint narrow streets
climbing the hillside. The panoramic views from the top are
not to be missed. The coastal train station and the bus
station are a few minutes walk.
Attractions
Further along the coast is
Monte Carlo with the Casino decorated in the original Belle
Epoch style. The Monte Carlo Rally is held in January and the
Grand Prix in May. See the changing of the guard at the
Grimaldi Castle in Monaco and look round the small winding
streets with shops, restaurants and museums. The popular
Friday Market in Ventimiglia, Italy is for cheap leather and
table linen. Spirits and tobacco is also cheap in Italy. The
ever popular resort of St Tropez can be reached by ferry from
the Cannes Port. Nice has the colourful Flower Market situated
in the quaint old town with its cobbled streets and unusual
shops. Antibes boasts the largest Marina on the Cote D’Azur
where some magnificent yachts, many owned by famous people are
moored. The Sunday Provencal Market also in Antibes is popular
for those who like their culinary delights. Biot is a medieval
village packed with history. Down from Biot near to the sea is
one of Europes largest fun parks and the most visited
attraction on the French Riviera. Marineland has various shows
daily withh killer whales, dolphins, sharks, penguins, sea
lions and many other aquatic species, Aquasplash has water
slides to suit all ages, some are not for the faint
hearted. Crazy Golf is fun for all the family. There is a
Childrens Farm with small animals and rides and Antibes land
(a large funfair) a must for Cannes
