lovely sandy beaches and deep blue sea on one side and the
beautiful Belle Epoch and Art Deco buildings on the other. A
must to visit is the fabulous designer shops, restaurants and
busy night life. The Palais des Festival famous for the Cannes
Film Festival and many popular conferences is toward the end
of the promenade. Further along the prom takes you to the
Vieux Port (old port) with its Marina and magnificent yachts
and “Le Suquet” (castle on the hill) where numerous
restaurants are packed into the quaint narrow streets climbing
the hillside. The panoramic views from the top are not to be
missed. For the faint hearted “The Little White Train” runs
regular tours from the promenade round the area with running
commentaries in various languages. The coastal railway is a
good way to see the many resorts in the area especially in the
busy July and August months.
Attractions
Further along the
coast is Monte Carlo with the Casino decorated in the original
Belle Epoch style. The Monte Carlo Rally is held in January
and the Grand Prix in May. See the changing of the guard at
the Grimaldi Castle in Monaco and look round the small winding
streets with shops, restaurants and museums. The popular

bottle your own unique perfume under the guidance of the
experts. There are many more attractions too numerous to
list, no matter what your taste is there is something for
everyone on the Cote D’Azur.
